Safari Day II at Zarafa, Botswana

We woke up at dawn for a morning game drive and I saw my very first elephants in the wild! A big mama ellie marched right out from behind a bush to make way for her little baby trampling in behind her.

Along our drive we saw more stunningly statuesque giraffes….

A magpie shrike:

Then out of nowhere came a pack of wild dogs chasing a waterbuck! You can kinda see him at the edge of the water in the distance in the middle of the photo. That would have been a sight to see the dogs take him down! Apparently wild dogs are also a rare and lucky find, and I saw them on Day 2!
