On the Way to Vumbura Plains Camp, Botswana
Happily up bright and early to go on another morning game drive:
Playful impala in a little squabble:
Same leopard, different day:
Elephant in Must
This elephant was casually walking down the road in our path, so we stopped to let him pass. Our guide said that by the size of his penis he could tell that he is in must, and that can sometimes cause them to be aggressive, so we should just wait for him to go by. I was minding my own business taking his photo when he swiftly turned directly at me, marched right up to me and stuck his tusk right in front of my face. The guide was whispering “DO. NOT. MOVE.” So I sat as still as possible until he huffed a bit and backed up and trumpeted away. I thought for sure I was going to be killed right then and there!!! Crazy ellie, you mad!
