Camping at Orella Ranch

Part 2 of Linda’s birthday extravaganza was an amazing campout at Orella Ranch, just north of Santa Barbara on the Gaviota coast. The ranch was established in 1866 and has been in the same family ever since, with amazing views up and down the coast, oak trees dating back hundreds of centuries and sustainably built cob structures.

We had no idea how incredible it was going to be going in – when I asked her if there were any shade structures and she said “there’s a big tree;” when I asked if there were specific camping spots she said to “bring an air mattress because it’s hard packed gravel.” … As you’ll see below, we arrived to quite a different reality than she let on!
