The Casitas of Arroyo Grande
Perfectly situated on a hilltop overlooking the finest vineyards in Central California is The Casitas of Arroyo Grande, a four casitas bed and breakfast with a pool and luxuriously appointed amenities. We were searching for a special place to unwind and spend the night celebrating our friend Linda’s 50th birthday and after laying out all of our options – The Casitas won uncontested!
We started the day off at Presqu’ile Winery just outside of Santa Maria and split a bottle of Rose and a charcuterie board and sat enjoying it in the summer sunshine. The cool ocean breezes and vineyard views coupled with having the place entirely to ourselves are what make Central California so endlessly perfect!
From there we moseyed up the road to The Casitas, hoping to maximize our stay by spending the rest of the day playing in the pool. Mik & I stayed in the Mariposa casitas, while Linda & Jason splurged and upgraded to Cielo since it was her special day. Both rooms seem equally awesome, the main bonuses of Cielo are that it is farther away from the other units, is directly adjacent to the pool and has a couch where we were able to play cards later that night.
After spending the afternoon playing bocce ball, swimming in the pool and drinking fantastic local wine, we opted to order a pizza so that we could safely continue the party and hang out in our personal oasis. Palo Mesa Pizza delivered a couple pizzas out there and it was great not having to get dressed up to go back out. Each room has a fireplace, so we moved the party into Cielo and played cards for a few hours before retiring to our pillowtop cloud of a bed.
The next morning we were delivered tea and coffee on our patio, followed by an amazing sausage and onion soufflé paired with local fresh strawberries, croissants and other pastries that all perfectly hit the spot and was some much needed sustenance to start the day.
We’ll definitely be back but will be staying for longer than one night!
