First Class to London
I was traveling on Virgin Atlantic to London with a friend when he got upgraded to first class and I didn’t. >:( But being the gentleman that he is: he gave me his seat! I was reluctant to take it because I’ve never flown anything but coach and I like hanging with my riffraff kinda crowd, but … who am I kidding?! I’ll take it!
That set the tone for the trip, where every wild hair idea that we came up with turned out even better than expected. We caught the end of an Arsenal game one night at a pub and decided to try to get tickets for the Chelsea v. Arsenal game the next night and then found a friend of a friend who let us borrow their season passes about 10 rows up. The energy at that game was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced!
Last but not least: my first Michelin restaurant dining experience at Quilon, a southwest-coastal Indian restaurant. The ambiance was a little strange to me, but the food was amazing. I’ve since recommended it to everyone who is going to London. DO IT!
The rest of the time I spent doing normal London-esque things: drinking tea, looking at old buildings and museums, doing Codewords in the paper and avoid the rain inside over hot chocolate and wine.
