New Developments
Change Gonna Come
For the last three years I’ve been working at a web design studio in Santa Barbara and started out as a copy/pasting content migrator but worked my way up to lead designer/project manager/customer service manager. It has been a whirlwind of change, adaptation, getting over social anxieties and more, but I’ve learned so much there that I’ve actually outgrown it.
I put in my notice at the beginning of the month and am lighting out on my own! Since I’ve been spending most of my free time working on freelance websites & my own projects, it feels like a better balance to focus on things that are directly of interest to me. My last day of work is March 1st and we’re going to Tulum, Mexico on March 2nd! Day One of Unemployment: on a beach in Mexico. That sounds so much more like “me” than any other me I’ve been playing in various offices around town.
Next Phases
This blog is going to take over where my last semi-private journal left off – full of travel, photography, daily goings-ons, musings, mishaps, what-have-you. I’m going to revitalize my photography business, explore other options for SBMerge, finish two other projects that have been waiting for more attention, build freelance websites and probably find a couple content management gigs to keep it steady. I’m also going to be building the user guide for the proprietary CMS that we’ve been using at work. I’m excited!
